Hollywood actor Kate Winslet recently shared her experience with testosterone replacement therapy, which she underwent to boost her libido. In a podcast interview, the Titanic star candidly discussed how dips in libido can often be attributed to hormonal imbalances.
During her appearance on the podcast How To Fail with Elizabeth – Part 1, Kate Winslet shared, “Sometimes women experience a significant drop in libido due to underlying health issues, such as thyroid problems.” She offered this advice to a listener seeking to improve their sex life.
Explaining further, she said, “There could also be stuff going on with your level of testosterone.” When the listener expressed concern about losing her sex drive with her long-term partner, Kate said, “A lot of people don’t know this, but women have testosterone in their bodies, and when it runs out — like eggs — it’s gone. Once it’s gone, you have to replace it, and that is something that can be done. You’ll feel sexy again. I know.”
Sharing an empowering insight, Kate added, “I think women as they get older get juicier and sexier and more embedded in their truth of who they are and more powerful, more able to walk through the world and care less and that is an empowering thing.”
Kate Winslet is married to Edward Abel Smith. They got married in 2012. Meanwhile, on the work front, Kate’s upcoming film, Lee, made its theatrical debut in the UK on September 13. The film made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month.
